How to exhibit your work in the gallery?

Image
Every artist dreams of showing his works live to the general public. How to do it? The easiest way is to rent galleries at your own expense and display your works. However, the cost of renting a gallery may be surprising. Prices depending on location, rental date and capacity of guests in central London start from £ 60 to £ 10k per day. Smaller galleries offer an exhibition service for us. They post our works for a small fee and I can even sell them. For example, the Wood End Gallery, which is located in a small town next to Northampton. The display offer and cost are as follows: For easier access to the gallery, it is worth signing up or joining art societies or communities. For example, in Suffolk, you can join the Suffolk Art Society. For a small fee and membership, you can expect our works to be exhibited fairly regularly. We may not expect our work to be exhibited in places like Tate, but it will certainly be an excellent practice and an opportunity to gain new contacts. Widening

Pieter Hugo - Website and Instagram - where this is all going?

Image
Pieter Hugo - Pieter is quite a young artist, in my opinion, his presence on Instagram is much more thoughtful than on his personal website. The number of people watching this artist is not impressive, but it certainly allows him to reach the crowd of his regular fans. And keep them informed about his activities. Although Pieter doesn't post too often or very regularly. Sometimes it is 1 post a week, sometimes several a week, this intensity allows him to keep the number of followers at 20k +. #pieterhugo His example shows that contact with his 'fans' is very important. And some kind of interaction through social media gives a feeling of closeness with the artist. For example, Pieter Hugo informs about his exhibition in Paris in the post below. In the comments, you can see the fans' reactions and answers like: see you ... So the observers see that the exhibition is going to be going on and someone still wants to be there. This is the best advertisement of today. Rather,

So how do you find a job?

So how do you find a job?  The question is quite rhetorical and there are many ways to find a job. Sometimes reality quickly verifies dreams. And what we thought we would be doing after graduation did not completely agree with what we were going to do. At least not at the beginning of his career. Assuming we don't have unlimited funds and too much industry experience, we should start with research. The best place is to view job offers on websites such as Indeed, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Reed, TotalJobs, CV-Library or Adzuna. We come across a lot of ads in locations that interest us. But remember that we are not alone in this industry. So that's why it's important to build your brand from the very beginning. By being present on social media, on the web or by creating your portfolio. Also, remember to keep in touch with the people of the industry. Visiting galleries, and exhibitions, just to be present in the industry. Depending on what interests you, if you want to simply work a

Presence in social media is one thing, the other is visibility. Mere presence in social media is not yet a success. In 2022, Instagram had over two billion active accounts a month. What does this mean, and what does it mean, in order to stand out from among the 2 billion and get noticed, you really have to sweat. What is the chance that our account will be visited more often than, for example, the three most popular stars on Instagram. Cristiano Ronaldo (366 million followers), Kylie Jenner (281 million followers) and Lionel Messi (281 million followers). The easiest way to get noticed and reach a group of people is through a hashtag. The three most-used hashtags on Instagram are #love (1.835 billion), #instagood (1.150 billion), and #fasion (812.7 million). #hashtag But this post is not about gaining fame, but about how to measure your fame not only on Instagram. The easiest way to measure is to use special tools that monitor the traffic on our account. Spying on other artists - Elliott Erwitt

Image
The website of the famous photographer which is my favourite is the website of Eliott Erwitt . Available at: https://www.elliotterwitt.com/ /accessed 24/04/2022/ What I like the most about this website is the clear and simple interface. White text on a black background, even my blog is written like this :). I know why I'm going to Eliott Erwitt's website. I don't go in there to read his long BIO or CV. I go to the website to view his mostly black and white photos. Which in my opinion fits perfectly with the black and white interface. There is a slideshow on the home page that slowly turns over the artist's photos. Already on this page, there are 40 pictures of the artist. At the bottom of the page, there is a link to the Instagram profile. On quite a short 'About' page at the very bottom is the link for the magnum photo profile.  Magnum is now in charge of Erwitt's website and the store. Which is also available on the same page. In my opinion, this website c

What is the artist BIO - is this must-have on your web or on social media

Image
To begin with, it should be understood what the abbreviation BIO means. Well, Bio is nothing but an abbreviation for the word Biography. Containing the most important achievements of the artist in a given field to which BIO refers. Biographia is a description of someone based on many studies and interviews. It is written by someone else, if you want to use the word BIO or Biography on your website, you should ask for it to be written by a third party. Often, novice authors/artists use the tab 'about me' or just publish their CV, on their websites. Therefore, we should consider whether our strikes are so spectacular as to ask someone to describe our person. Or perhaps stick with the tab about me. It is certainly tempting to use the word BIO or biography. We add prestige. Some artists add a resume to their pages to support what their BIO says about them. An example is the website of Martin Parr, who boasts a huge number of achievements in the field of photography. #bio Martin Par
